I was born in Sevenoaks, Kent, and attended the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff. Whilst there, I played Richard Bennett in Alexander Cordell's Rape of the Fair Country, which was broadcast on BBC Radio 3.  I toured with the Scottish Children's Theatre as Gepetto and the Cat in Pinocchio. 

Television credits include:  Boon (for Central TV), The Upper Hand (for Central TV) and The Continental (for BBC2).

I have acted in many short films including:  The Report, Cloud Shadows and The Nobel Proze

Writing credits include:  And Fight for Bread, an historical novel set during the Industrial Revolution, with England on the brink of civil unrest; and Murder in the Eagle's Shadow, a crime novel set in Roman Britain.  I have also written numerous plays and film scripts.  My play, Wembley Ho!, set in 1987, follows the adventures of several Mansfield Town supporters, travelling to Wembley to see them play Bristol City in the final of the Freight Rover Trophy.  It was performed at the Palace Theatre, Mansfield in 2004.

 

Current Projects

Acting

Workhouse Stories.  This is part of an ongoing project at Southwell Workhouse, Nottinghamshire.  It involves writing and performing stories about real characters and incidents recorded in the Workhouse archives. These have recently been performed at venues such as Newark and Forest Town libraries, and the Co-op Reading Rooms at Burton Joyce, Nottinghamshire.  For details of 2010 dates and venues, please keep visiting this site.

Upon the KingBased on the plays of Shakespeare, this one-man show explores the way we are governed, where authority comes from and if it is ever permissible to bring about regime change by force. 

Writing

I am working on a stage adaptation of George Orwell's Animal Farm, one of my favourite novels.  When the animals on cruel Farmer Jones' farm drive him out and take over, they believe they have created a world where all animals will live together in harmony...
